The Trinamool Congress on Monday condemned the assault on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee as a ‘disgrace’ not only to politics but also to the nation. “Yesterday’s nasty incident was a disgrace not only to politics but also to the nation,” TMC spokesperson Derek O’Brien said at a press conference.Also Read: Incident of slapping of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee a result of Trinamool internal feudEarlier on Monday, the labour wing of the Trinamool Congress, the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC), staged a protest against the assault on Abhishek. The protestors chanted slogans, and held the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responsible for the attack.
