In another gut-wrenching incident, a 28-year-old mentally challenged woman was gangraped by a number of unidentified men in Haryana and then murdered. Her body was then dumped along the Rohtak-Hisar highway. The woman, originally from Nepal used to live with her sister in Bahu Akbarpur in Rohtak. She had been reported missing on 4 February.
The Times of India reports that it was difficult to recognise her body since wild animals had attacked her face. “The woman’s body was found without key organs on Wednesday along with sticks, stones and condoms stuffed into her private parts three days after she went missing,“ the report stated.
Dr S K Dhatterwal, who conducted the autopsy on the woman’s decomposing body said that he had not witnessed such brutality previously in his career. “He said two stones were inserted into the slain woman’s anus. “Her face was eaten by animals; her lungs and heart were found missing. Also, her skull had fractured and there were injury marks on both her thighs and chest.”
Rohtak police are working overtime to trace the rapists. Rohtak SP Shashank Anand told The Indian Express that seven teams have been constituted to work on the case. Also, CCTV cameras have been installed at several location’s including in places around the victim’s house to help track the culprits.
“We have constituted an SIT to track down the perpetrators. We have put our best investigators on the job,” Anand told TOI. A cash reward of Rs 1 lakh has been announced for anyone who helps track the rapists.
The woman hailed from Vardia district in Nepal and had come to visit her sister who worked as a domestic help in Rohtak.
