IOC official arrested for alleged links with ISIS remanded in police custody

The 30-year-old man, a native of Gulbarga in Karnataka, was arrested in Jaipur on Thursday by the Special Operation Group (SOG) and ATS of Rajasthan Police and charged under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

IOC marketing manager Mohd Sirajuddin, arrested for his alleged links with ISIS, was remanded on Friday in police custody for ten days. He was produced in a local court where the magistrate remanded him in police custody till December 21, officials said.The 30-year-old man, a native of Gulbarga in Karnataka, was arrested here yesterday by the Special Operation Group (SOG) and ATS of Rajasthan Police and charged under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.The accused was very much influenced by ISIS ideology and was trying to draw Muslim youths into the terror outfit’s fold, Additional Director General of Police (ATS and SOG) Alok Tripahti told PTI. 10-year-old with kidney disease becomes Rajasthan’s police commissioner

Jaipur: A 10-year-old boy suffering from chronic kidney disease had one of his wishes fulfilled on Thursday when he was made the police commissioner of the Rajasthan capital for the day.

Thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation of India and Rajasthan Police, Girish Sharma — who is battling a life-threatening kidney illness — was able to fulfil his wish to sit on the chair of the police commissioner.

“Dressed in the complete uniform of a police commissioner, the boy sat on the chair at the police commiserate here for over an hour. From there, he went to the Gandhi Nagar police station where he spent some time. He was accorded a guard of honour and the smile on his face clearly showed how happy he was,” said Smita Shah of the Make A Wish Foundation of India.

As per the NGO’s website, it grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

“We generally ask for three wishes from a child suffering from a life-threatening disease. When we asked Girish about his innermost wish, he said he wanted to become the police commissioner. So we arranged this with the cooperation and support of Rajasthan Police,” she said.
