Over 20 hours after a fire broke out at a godown in Rajarhat, in North 24 Pargana district, flames continue to blaze till Wednesday morning.The fire broke out around afternoon on Tuesday and locals who spotted the fire immediately informed the fire services department.Since there are no fire services headquarters in New Town-Rajarhat area, fire tenders had to be rushed in from Salt Lake sector-5.As many as twelve fire tenders were called in to douse the fire but only reached the spot several hours after the fire broke out.The fire initially broke out in a godown and gradually spread to adjoining godown that stored pharmaceutical chemicals and other flammable products.
